Commonwealth Air Service

Commonwealth Air Service is available for the use of state agencies.  This service allows access to communities served by most of the 66 public use airports in Virginia as well as most of the other 5000+ public use airports in the United States -- all departing and arriving at times that are most efficient for the passengers.

There are two aircraft, used for revenue, that are normally available on a first-come, first-served basis -- with pre-emptive priority for the Governor and Virginia Economic Development Partnership.

Beechcraft King Air 350 can seat 11 passengers* - cost is $985.00 per hour of flight time.

*The number of passengers that can be accommodated is dependent upon the combined weight of passengers and baggage being carried.

Costs are competitive for 4 passengers versus airlines on short notice flights.  Call for a comparison.

If you represent a state agency that would like to receive more information, or to schedule an aircraft, please call (804) 236-3639 or e-mail Andrea Jorgensen.

DOAV does not carry hazardous materials onboard its aircraft. Any questions as to what constitutes hazardous materials can be answered by calling (804) 236-3639.
