"Planes, Trains, and Santa" - Santa's Sleigh Lands at the Military Aviation Museum takes place from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.The Military Aviation Museum, in association with the Tidewater Division of the National Model Railroad Association, is pleased to announce its 7th-annual model train show! Layouts on display are provided by the following clubs and organizations: Tidewater O Gauge Association, South Hampton Roads N-Trak Club, Tidewater S Gauge Association, Tidewater Modular Railroad Club, Tidewater Live Steamers, and others. Santa Claus will fly in on Friday and Saturday, with a meet-and-greet for children of all ages at 11:00am both days! Virginia Chapter of the Ninety-Nines Toy Airlift will take place at Richmond Executive-Chesterfield County Airport from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Collect toys for children and clothing, gift cards, etc. for patients at McGuire Veterans Hospital and fly or drive them to the airport. Toys collected will be provided to "Holiday Helpers" at Fort Lee. Santa will fly-in to the airport at 10:00 a.m. and will be inside the terminal to greet children until 2:00 p.m. There will be live Christmas music throughout the day and a hot lunch will be available at King's Corner Restaurant. The show features two days of aerial performances and two additional days of educational opportunities for young people who attend schools in the area. Performers include: the US Navy Blue Angels, Kevin Coleman in his Extra 300, The Aeroshell Team, The Tuskegee P-51 and the Tuskegee display and traveling theater, Shockwave jet truck, Scott Francis in his MXS, The All Veterans Group parachute team, The C-54 Candy Bomber, Jacquie Warda, The John Klatt Jet powered Waco, FA-18 simulators and variety of warbirds and military/civilian aircraft.

Pancake Breakfast at Franklin Municipal Airport (FKN) takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month except December. Sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force’s Old Dominion Squadron and EAA Chapter 339, each pancake breakfast takes place in the Old Dominion Squadron’s hangar from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. World War II Veterans Honor Flights via DCA Air Carriers take place each Saturday and Wednesday April-May and Sept.-Oct. from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Terminals A, B, & C. Sponsored by US Airways, AAL, Delta, and Air Tran. Between 100-450 WWII veterans are flown to DCA via charters from various east coast airports to visit the WWII Memorial on the Mall in Washington, DC. Numerous air carriers fly-in vets on chartered flights while other passengers warmly cheer and welcome them back to DCA. 7700+ WWII vets flew into DCA on 64 charter flights during 2009.
National Capitol Squadron (NCS) of Culpeper, Virginia holds a hangar open house on the second Saturday of each month. The NCS is a division of the Commemorative Air Force and is focused on World War II aircraft and honoring past and present veterans and more specifically the aviation history of the 1940's. Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society - Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter meets at the Pilot House, Hummel Field, in Topping, Virginia in the "Eagle's Nest" at 12 Noon on the third Thursday of each month unless otherwise posted.
