State Funding Programs for Airports
State aviation funding programs to assist sponsors of public-use airports with a variety of improvement activities are managed by the Virginia Department of Aviation. Information on these programs, as well as summaries of Virginia Aviation Board policies and department procedural guidelines for implementation, is provided in the department's Airport Program Manual. Airport Program Manual
The Virginia Department of Aviation's Airport Program Manual provides information on state aviation funding programs, the state's General Aviation Airport Voluntary Security Certification Program, and licensing a public-use airport. The latest version of the maual was adopted by the Virginia Aviation Board on May 15, 2008 and the contents became effective July 1, 2008. Updates will be made as policies and procedures change, and the updates will be posted here.

Policy and Procedure Guidance Bulletins
The Virginia Department of Aviation will issue Policy and Procedure Guidance Bulletins to introduce new Virginia Aviation Board policies and department procedures and to provide additional information on policies and procedures. The bulletins will be distributed directly to airport sponsors, managers, and consultants, as well as posted on this website.
